Cecil Leadership Institute Visits Wildcat Point

CONOWINGO — In week nine of the Cecil Leadership Institute, students visited the Wildcat Point Generation Facility, a new power plant being constructed by Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC), as well as Sandy Cove Ministries, a riverside Christian retreat center south of North East with a long history in Cecil County.

Starting the day at Wildcat Point, students learned about the lengthy process of constructing a power plant. In the works since 2012, ODEC underwent an extensive permitting process before even breaking ground on the project, which is aimed at addressing the need to power more homes in the area as Cecil County grows.
